Arlington
Circuit Overview
The Arlington Street Circuit is a temporary 2.730-mile / 4.390 km IndyCar street circuit under development in Arlington, Texas.
Set to debut in March 2026 as part of the Grand Prix of Arlington, the track winds around three major sports venues – AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field and Choctaw Stadium – and features a flowing, high-speed profile with a 0.9‑mile straight and 14 turns.
Designed by Tony Cottman, it promises to be the longest IndyCar street or road course outside Road America, offering top-flight racing amid the city’s vibrant entertainment district.
Circuit History
The idea for an Arlington street race first appeared in late 2024 after reports that IndyCar planned an event in the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area. On 7 October 2024, organisers confirmed the Grand Prix of Arlington, set for March 2026, as a joint venture between IndyCar, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers.
Street-circuit specialist Tony Cottman was appointed to design the layout, leveraging his experience from Champ Car and IndyCar. Announced as a 2.73‑mile loop with 14 corners, the design includes the series’ longest street/road course straightaway (0.9 mile), expected speeds above 180 mph, and a split pit lane inspired by Detroit .
Initial reactions from drivers like Josef Newgarden and Alex Palou have been overwhelmingly positive, calling it “fast and flowing” and urging fans “be here because it’s going to be a big show”. Key overtaking spots are planned at Turns 1, 10, 12 and 14.
Final preparations are underway, with race weekend scheduled for 13‑15 March 2026. The event promises a full support-card weekend with practice on Friday, qualifying on Saturday and the main race on Sunday.
